Do steel fishing lures work?
Yes, steel fishing lures are effective and widely used in fishing. They are known for their durability and ability to withstand harsh fishing conditions. Steel lures are particularly useful for targeting larger, predatory fish species due to their strength and resilience. Their reflective surface can attract fish by mimicking the flash of small baitfish, making them highly appealing. Additionally, their weight allows for longer casting distances and deeper water fishing. Overall, steel lures are a valuable tool for both freshwater and saltwater anglers.
Which is better: gloss white, sparkle silver or sparkle white fishing lures?
The choice between gloss white, sparkle silver, and sparkle white fishing lures largely depends on the fishing conditions and target species.
- Gloss White: Effective in clearer waters, gloss white lures are visible to fish due to their bright and reflective nature. They mimic the flash of real fish, attracting predatory species.
- Sparkle Silver: Ideal for conditions with low light, such as dawn, dusk, or murky waters. The sparkling effect mimics the scales of small baitfish, attracting attention from predatory fish.
- Sparkle White: Combines the brightness of white with added sparkle, making it versatile for various lighting conditions. It's especially useful in waters where fish are attracted to light and shimmer.
Each color has its advantages, and the best choice often depends on factors like water clarity, light conditions, and the type of fish you're targeting. Experienced anglers often carry a variety of colors to adapt to different situations.
How do I sublimate and create a custom fishing lure?
To create a custom sublimated fishing lure, first download a template by clicking the “TECH DOCS/DOWNLOADS” tab. Print your design on quality sublimation paper, like Johnson Plastics Plus (JPP) brand, and use repositionable adhesive spray (e.g., Elmer’s) to attach the transfer to the lure. Cut the transfer following the template, attach it to the lure with the spray, and press down any ridges for a full bleed effect. Place the lure face down on a soft heat conductive pad in your press, set at 375º with medium-heavy pressure. Sublimate a 3” lure for 3½ minutes and a 4½” lure for 5 minutes. After pressing, remove the transfer, let the lure cool, then attach the split ring and treble hook. Optionally, test your lure by fishing! Read full instructions here.
