How to print with Flux Adorâ„¢ print module?

  1. Easily switch out modules by using a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screw at the top of the module, then slide the existing module off the support post. Slide the new module onto the support post using the keyhole on the back of the print module without the ink cartridge and the reattach screw.
  2. Place your substrate into the Adorâ„¢ and use the autofocus button to align your print head.
  3. Import your artwork into Beam Studio, using the camera feature to take a photo and align your artwork.
  4. The printing module holds one color of ink at a time. Before inserting the ink cartridge into the module, use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the print head of excess ink. Lift the print module lid, slide the ink in at 45-degree angle, and push down until the ink cartridge snaps into place, then close the print module lid.

In Beam Studio select the printing module, we recommend using masking tape at the bottom of your laser for your spit box. (Printhead will deposit ink to ensure that the nozzles are expelling ink).

If you are printing in full color, insert black first and follow the display screen prompts until you’ve finished printing all the colors.

After you finish using an ink cartridge, remove it from the print module, replace the plastic print head cover, and place it back into the plastic storage container.

Print and then cut – cut line should be a separate layer.

Print Quality Expectations with Adorâ„¢:
While Adorâ„¢ opens exciting new colorful possibilities, there are some limitations to be aware of compared to commercial printers. Adorâ„¢ is primarily a laser cutter with entry-level printing capabilities.

For best results, the material should have a matte finish, or we recommend using an adhesion promoter such as gesso or spray paint to prevent the ink from smearing.

Best results on flat surfaces under 2mm height differences. Dimensional objects may show reduced print quality.

Single-color printing achieves a resolution of 300 DPI, mixed color printing operates at 150 DPI, which is lower than commercial printers. Printing dots may be visible, especially in color gradients. The CMYK ink saturation achieves vibrant results but has limitations versus 6+ color commercial printing. Darker hues may appear slightly muted.
